Proctors ran a haulage business from Mousehold in the 1930's. They built a diesel engined lorry to carry 6 tons and then started to manufacture lorries for the haulage industry.
Three of their vehicles were exhibited in the 1948 Commercial Motor Show. The manufacturing rights were sold to Praids Motors Ltd. Hereford in 1949.
Production went on until 1952. A very short lived life for the production of Proctor but a very reliable sturdy vehicle, many ending up working with the British Road Service.
I recall one Proctor working in Norwich from my childhood and that was a cattle truck belonging to "Spendlove " cattle transporters, and viewed at Norwich cattle market. I recall the cab was painted green with much sign writing, I am wondering if a photo of this vehicle exists
