Year - in the 50s. Lifeboat collection day - Ref number - 1
So far have not found right date, bear with me.
Year - April 21st.1961 The "FRANDOR" on Fire. - Ref number - 2
The lifeboat "LOUISE STEPHENS" was launched at 4.04pm. An explosion had occurred on the vessel4 miles south west by west from the "SMITH's KNOLL Lightship. On reaching the scene at 6.20pm. the lifeboat found that the trawler "OCEAN DAWN" had picked up the crew. The crew were transferred to the lifeboat and their ship's boat was taken in tow. The men were landed at Gt.Yarmouth and the lifeboat returned to her station,arriving at 8.40pm.
Year - May 31st. 1963. Holland's Latest Lifeboat at Gorleston. - Ref number - 3
The picture shows the Dutch Lifeboat "KONINGIN JULIANA" (Queen Juliana)making heavy seas on her way across the North Sea.
Year - February 27th. 1959, Injured seaman landed. - Ref number - 4
The Gorleston Lifeboat "LOUISE STEPHENS" was called out to the London ship "OARSMAN" to take off a man who had been injured in a fall. The lifeboat was launched soon after 1pm. to meet the "OARSMAN",a tanker,in Yarmouth Roads with a doctor on board. The man fell from the top of the mast when the "OASRSMAN" was 15 miles north from Yarmouth.
Year - May 1953. Coronation Goodwill trip. - Ref number - 5
The Gorleston Teserve Lifeboat "ELIZABETH WILLS ALLEN" with Coxswain G Mobbs,Second Coxswain P.Williment and David Woodhouse,(brother of the famous Caister Lifeboatman 'Skipper' Woodhouse).Also with them was Lieut.Comm.H.Harvey District Inspector and M.Mitchell,mecanic of the Portpatrick Lifeboat. They travelled up the Thames to Oxford and were away for three weeks.
